Curriculum Fairs are a great way to get your hands on many different curriculums. While content is key, it is extremely helpful to look at the various materials to see which ones fit your teaching style as well as the learning style of your student. Additionally, the amount of white space and graphics in a text are things to consider. Some homeschool families coordinate their vacations or other travel plans with the timing of conventions to save on costs and time commitments. Some even carpool together.
Remember, if you are ordering from a publisher, there is usually a shipping time of several weeks and some publishers run out by August. That is why you often see Curriculum Fairs and Conventions in the Spring. Unfortunately, COVID has canceled these Spring fairs, so be sure not to get surprised by trying to choose curriculum in July as there may be shortages.
Here are some of the upcoming fairs across the state.
