Staff Dress Code

All employees are expected to wear modest, professional clothing while on staff for Family Educators Alliance of South Texas. The intent and spirit of the dress code is to inspire us to lead by example of the clothing they will need to wear in the workforce and glorify God through modesty and yet still express the creativity of the individual.

 

Female Dress: 

  • All clothing must be modest and in good taste. 
  • Blouses must be conservative and must be loose (not tight fitting), worn with sleeves (not sleeveless), and may be worn tucked in or untucked. 
  • Blouses may be layered with an under top, but no tank tops with ribbing, no camisoles or slips showing; nothing that has the appearance of “underwear”.
  • Button down shirts must be buttoned with only the top button open. 
  • There must be no skin visible between blouse and skirt. Leggings may be worn under a skirt.
  • Skirts and dresses must be loose (not form fitting in the seat) with hemline below the knee.
  • Denim skirts and dresses are permitted, but must not be faded or have holes, and must follow all other requirements for skirts and dresses.
  • Walking vents (slits) are permissible and must begin no higher than the knee (when standing).
  • Skirts may button up the front but must open no higher than the knee (when standing).
  • Pants may be khaki slacks (not cargo), or dress slacks. They should not be form fitting.
  • Denim Jean pants may only be worn in conjunction with work that requires durable, protective attire, not faded, holey, or washed out. (moving heavy items, cleaning, outdoor work, etc.)
  • No wording on garments is permitted.
  • No extreme styles please. 
  • Final decision is up to the discretion of the FEAST Executive Director.

Male Dress

  • All clothing must be modest and in good taste.
  • Shirts must be neat, conservative, button down shirts (tucked in) or polo shirts (untucked).
  • Button down shirts must be buttoned with only the top button open. 
  • Pants may be khaki slacks (not cargo), or dress slacks. They should not be form fitting.
  • Denim Jean pants may only be worn in conjunction with work that requires durable, protective attire, not faded, holey, or washed out. (moving heavy items, cleaning, outdoor work, etc.)
  • No wording on garments is permitted.
  • No extreme styles please. 
  • Final decision is up to the discretion of the FEAST Executive Director.

 General Dress for Men & Women

Shoes:  Must be comfortable and professional. Comfortable shoes or boots, no spiked heels.  Sandals or clogs are acceptable.  No athletic shoes.  No flip-flops of any kind.   

Jewelry:   Earrings, necklaces, rings, watches, and bracelets must be conservative, modest, and in good taste.  No jewelry other than stated may be worn on any other body parts.  No piercings are allowed to be seen on any other part of the body.

Grooming:  Hair must be clean and neat using natural hair dye colors.  Make-up must be conservative not extreme emphasizing natural beauty features (including nail polish).  No visible tattoos, permanent or temporal.  No gum chewing while working with customers at FEAST.

 

This list is not all inclusive.  As styles change, new items may need to be added to this list.  Therefore, please refrain from wearing any items that are listed as inappropriate and any items that the FEAST management deems inappropriate for office wear. Final decision is up to the discretion of the FEAST Executive Director.
