Hearts to Serve
We have upgraded…Next year will include more training and opportunities! Join Courtney Little each week and as you learn how to make the world a better place, one service project at a time! Come and make friends that will last a lifetime!
Student Council will be a class which will meet every Thursday at 8am for 50 minutes. This hour was picked because it does not conflict with any other classes because there are no other classes at 8am. This will also enable more productive time as it is scheduled and does not overlap with lunch or devotions.
Each week will have a scheduled purpose, with 16 weeks per semester we will work with a 4-week rotation.
- Week 1 ~Leadership Training with Derek Torvik. He will teach from a leadership curriculum that is Biblically based.
- Week 2 ~Leadership Organization- Planning Meeting with Officers and Student Council Advisors, including break out sessions and working in teams.
- Week 3 ~Leadership Implementation- Put what you learn to work, schedule service projects, schedule games with the student body, etc.
- Week 4 ~ Leadership Experience- Share what you have learned. This week will be open to underclassmen who would like to be part of Jr. Council.
- The Student council will work in groups with the Jr. Council to share the vision of servitude and pass the baton to the next generation. Class fee covers T-shirt
Step up today to be a part of the Student Council 2019-2020 team.
Hello there! My name is Courtney Walloupe-Little. I attended college in Orange County, California for early childhood care where I did several hours of assisting teachers grades kindergarten through 12th grade. I found myself interested in helping troubled youth and moved to Texas and started working for a locked-down children’s facility until I met my husband and started a family. We have four children and after various bad experiences with both public and charter schools, we decided homeschooling was the best decision we could ever make! We have been homeschooling now for five years and this will be our third year at FEAST, which has become a second home to us!
Feedback is appreciated and should be directed to Courtney Little at 714-334-8392 or email at email@example.com
Can’t wait to see what next year has in store for Student Council and what Student Council has in store for FEAST, Oak Ridge and San Antonio!
Student Council is springing and blooming with opportunities of service this March!
Hitting off the month with a strong start, we served the homeless community through the ministry, Under the Bridge, on March 3rd. On the 7th of March, we were blessed to have our encouraging guest speaker, Derrick Torvik, return with a powerful message for us. After much hard work, the Student Council took a much-needed Spring Break. Hopping back into gear, Student Council spent March 21st with teamwork, fellowship, fun, and a game. On the lovely day of March 22nd, we put our green thumbs to work and beautified FEAST’s new offices at the Denman Estate. On March 28th, the Student Council held our deliciously successful pizza fundraiser. Finally, as the finishing touch of the month, the Student Council proudly held our first ever FEAST Co-op Talent Show! All FEAST Co-op students were invited to participate in this amazing and extraordinary event which was put together by the Student Council’s wonderful Events Committee. It was held on March 29th with a big whopping success.
Student Council continues to support Oak Ridge Baptist Church by collecting food and clothing items for their pantry and donating a refrigerator for their new nursery. We have collected a large sum of food for their ministry as we made the entry to the Talent show include cans of food. If you are interested or would like to help us by donating items of food or clothing, please visit us at Student Council Central in the gym on Thursdays! If you have any questions, feel free to ask any Student Council member. We sincerely appreciate any help. Thank you for your support!
Here’s how you can help: Student Council will be continuing to collect pantry items through the rest of the semester. Please find the list of acceptable items below. We will be accepting donations every Thursday at Student Council Central. Thank you so much for supporting Student Council and your community!
We look forward to many other events and activities throughout the rest of the semester!
