Do you have children that like to do outdoorsy things” Hiking in the woods, building a fire and cooking over it? What about camping under the stars in a tent? Do you want your children to know basic first aid, knot tying, and other life skills? Or maybe you have a child that loves the water, you know, swimming, canoeing, sailing, scuba diving? All the fun stuff that scouts are known for! Or maybe you want your children to learn how to be good stewards of our resources and overall to better serve our community? Answered yes to any of these and wondering what scouts can do for your family? Come, hear Paul Watje (Eagle Scout and homeschool dad) and learn how you can do scouting with your child or your entire family! He would like to show you how your child can be an official Scout through a traditional troop or a Lone Scout (homeschool style). His two teen sons will be available to share their current adventures in scouting. Paul’s wife, Jeanette, can also answer any questions and how this was a blessing to do this with their two older sons that are Eagle Scouts and their daughter that was in Sea Scouts and all four of them went backpacking at Philmont. Scouts are now open to females, so come hear how your family can use this program for the entire family. We look forward to sharing our experience and helping answer if scouts are a fit for your family goals. The fun awaiting your family and resources that are available to you through the Boy Scouts of America program is amazing!
