EUWCD Scholarship Essay Deadline

ALL 2021 GRADUATES RESIDING IN ATASCOSA, KARNES, WILSON, AND FRIO COUNTIES
The Evergreen Underground Water Conservation District will be offering a Scholarship Program to the students of the 2021 Graduating Classes. Available for Home School and Private School Students that reside within the four Counties (Atascosa, Wilson, Frio, and Karnes) comprising the Evergreen District. The Program will provide Scholarships of $2,000, $1,500, and $1000 for first, second, and third places, respectively. The Scholarship winners may reapply for the same level of funding for their second, third, and fourth years of college by request. As long as they maintain a minimum 3.00 GPA, and take at least 12 hours of courses per semester!
In order to qualify for a Scholarship, Students must submit to the District an essay of 750-1,000 words on the following topic (Please include references at the end of the essay):
“What is the State of Texas’s preferred method of groundwater management?
Who owns the groundwater? How does a groundwater district manage and protect the groundwater resources for the landowners and all other water users?”
In addition to the essay, a cover letter with the Student’s name, contact information, GPA, and a list of Student’s Activities and Honors is required. THE ESSAY IS DUE NO LATER THAN 5pm., FRIDAY, APRIL 2nd, 2021 and must be submitted on a Flash Drive or Email and in the Microsoft Word Document Format.
