If You Were an Ornament,
Which Would You be?
It is no secret that Christmas is my favorite time of year, for so many reasons. I love the way most people decorate for the season. As I was anticipating Christmas, I began to think about ornaments. I have yet to meet a Christmas ornament that I didn’t like. Tradition holds a special place in my heart:
- bells,
- ribbons,
- candles,
- family picture frames,
- nativity sets,
- my all-time favorite, the star.
As I considered all the treasured ornaments, I thought, I hope others see me as a star.
O.K., before you leave thinking I am full of myself, let me explain. When I look at the ornaments, I remember what they represent. Some are mementos from a vacation or a place you visited, while others may contain a picture of children or family members. A bell with ribbons reminds me of a sleigh bell on a horse-drawn carriage. Angels can represent anything from a cherub to the angel who told Mary she would be the mother of Jesus. And let’s not forget the star. It represents the star that leads the shepherds and wise men to Jesus.
What is a star? A natural luminous body visible in the sky especially at night. Stars not only produce light, but they also reflect it. So when I say I hope to be a star, it is because I hope to reflect the light of Christ. The most important thing about Christmas is we celebrate the fact Christ was born. He came as the babe in the manger, to die on the cross for ALL. What a gift! I would love to share that gift. If you have not already received that gift, you have only to accept it! I would love to share a cup of coffee and Jesus with you. Contact me for more info!
I pray you and your family have a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year
