November 2022

The planning window for Spring 2023 athletics has passed and FEAST will not offer a tennis program in 2022-23. Thank you!

October 2022

We’d love to offer tennis in the spring, but we need YOUR help!

Our sports programs are volunteer-based with the purpose of providing athletics to homeschooled middle school and high school students in a Christ-centered environment. In order for FEAST to offer a specific sport, we need both leadership and players. We have interest, but we need leaders!

At this time, we are looking for a Commissioner and Head Coach for FEAST Tennis. (What a way to support your child’s interest in a lifelong sport!) Apply by 10/31/22

Game, Set, Match!

FEAST’s new tennis season has been full of first-time tennis players and a couple of veterans. With a lot of learning for our program, both on the court and off. With our first couple of matches under our belts, these future rockstars have grown tremendously!

Our Team Captain, Elle Yielding, is a great leader and I believe will support a strong foundation for years to come. Andrew has shown great strides in being a very competitive singles player and shows great team work with Grace as a mixed doubles partner. Faith and James rock it out as mixed doubles. Lleyton shows great improvement in singles and doubles. Elle and Faith continue to make huge strides in being a doubles team to be feared next season. Gabby has become a very eager tennis player growing her tennis game very quickly.

FEAST Tennis looks forward to our upcoming tennis tournaments and for our end-of-the summer bash! GO PATRIOTS TENNIS!

15-30-40-GAME!

Our young tennis players have come out swinging! Our young new squad is showing great promise and have shown great response to the court and willingness to learn the game. Lleyton and James show great skills of ball control and eagerness to learn more on the court. Andrew shows a huge competitive spirit to be first on every drill and killer left-hand forehand. Gabriella, Grace, Landri show strong commitment to having a never-give-up attitude and are showing large steps of growth in becoming strong tennis players.

We held a friendly squad scrimmage with a local Oak Meadow Tennis League on January 20, which allowed us to check our skills and see how much we have grown as a team. Our players performed well and we’re excited to continue building our foundations and skills!

October 2021
Welcome to the new Tennis (and Golf!) Commissioner, James Tavera!

We are ecstatic for James to join our Commissioner team for not one, but two sports! The Tavera family is newer to homeschool programs such as FEAST, however; they are not new to sports. James has played virtually every sport you can imagine: football, basketball, baseball, tennis, soccer, golf, volleyball, and track. (Can you guess which one he played semi-pro?) He still plays in men’s league soccer, golf and makes time for tennis weekly, allowing him to stay familiar with the game.

Sports gave James the opportunity to develop skills of precision, determination, and drive – three attributes he hopes to instill in the young minds of FEAST Tennis and Golf this year. James firmly believes sports are a way for individuals to not only express their gifts, but also provides children a way to challenge themselves. Additionally, his goal is also give our athletes the tools needed to make decisions on the court and on the course, and also in life. He believes we can only measure success by overcoming our mistakes, by learning from failures, and conquering our fears.

The Tavera family has three amazing children: James II (13), Jacob (8), Lily (4). They’re members of CBC here in San Antonio and faith plays a large role in their family. Sports gave James the opportunity to go to college at The University of the Incarnate Word where he studied Biology, Chemistry, and Computer Graphic Arts. (PS: the answer is baseball!)

Thank you, James, for bringing Golf and Tennis back to FEAST Athletics!

July 2020

FEAST Tennis is in need of a commissioner and a competition coach for the upcoming school year.

While we have an amazing training/teaching coach, FEAST would like to take our tennis program to the next level and begin competing against local programs.  In order to do so, we need a commissioner to run the program and a coach that can attend competitions with the teams. If you or someone you know is interested in either position, please submit your application today!
