David Dunn

Track Commissioner

David has been married to his wife Belinda for 36 years. They have six children and six
grandchildren. They homeschooled their children from kindergarten through 12th grade,
and all went on to become college graduates. David and Belinda are empty nesters
now, and they enjoy spending time with their grandkids and traveling when they get the
chance.
David grew up in Texas and met Belinda at Lamar University, where David studied
chemical engineering and ran track and cross country. Belinda earned her degree
in Speech and taught in both private and public school until their children were born.
The Dunns lived in Houston for five years, then moved to Sandy, Utah for 9 years before
moving to San Antonio in 1999. Currently, Belinda works as the Equip Lead at Hillside
Fellowship, while David works for Valero Energy as the Gasoline Optimization Director.
After resuming competitive running in his forties, David was twice ranked in the top
20 of US Men over 40 in the Marathon. One of his highlights was running in the Boston
Marathon at age 41 and finishing 117th overall!
David resurrected the FEAST track and field program in 2001 and has been Track
Commissioner and High School Head Coach each year since. The FEAST track
team began small, but every year the team grew and became more competitive.
Along the way, a middle school head coach, assistant commissioner, and event
coaches were added, bringing valuable expertise to the team.
In competition, the FEAST track teams are very successful! The first Texas Home School
State Track meet was held in 2009, and since that time, the FEAST Boys have won
the state title 9 times, and the FEAST Girls have been the state champs every year.
Additionally, numerous FEAST track athletes have graduated and gone on to compete
at the collegiate level.
Thank you, Coach Dunn, for serving our Track and Field program!
