Spring is in Air!

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word “spring”? When I was younger I always thought of Spring Break because it was a fun break in the monotony. No school, no homework, and maybe even squeeze in a vacation!

Now that I am not in school and the kids are grown, the break is not as exciting as it used to be, so I turned my affections to spring cleaning! I know, I know, please hear me out…According to my friend Webster, the definition of Spring Cleaning is: the act or process of do-ing a thorough cleaning of a place. I guess I am at the age where I enjoy “seeing the fruits of my labor”. So for me, cleaning is self gratifying. My house looks better, smells better and I feel accomplished. However, this year, I have decided to clean myself! So if you are not already booked this year, I wonder if you will join me on a mission to Spring Clean our minds?

As women, there are so many things we buy into that need to be cleaned out! We sell our-selves short. We believe the lies of society. We don’t value ourselves and our contribution to our family, friends and community. Time to be honest, take a long look in the mirror. You know that girl, the one that God created with a purpose in mind. Don’t let the worries and stresses of the daily grind make you lose sight of who you are. Time to clean out your vessel! Trust in the Lord, make time to spend with Him daily. When you get your vessel refilled by the Father, you will have the mental clarity to be who He created you to be!

No matter when you take your spring break, this year make it count. Take some time to accomplish things on your “one day” list. You know, “one day” I will get around to it! You will be amazed at how refreshed you will feel!
